Westward - The Empire Of Deception (2017)

The second album from this US band.

Westward is a trio with a lineup of bass, drums, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

The band is from Salt Lake City in Utah and released their debut album The Deadly Rapture Of Space back in 2015. Both albums are Bandcamp albums and you will find their Bandcamp page on the link above.

The band has been listening a lot to Marillion and Radiohead. That is obvious quite early on this album. An impression confirmed by the rest of the album.

The songs are mid-tempo and dynamic. There is some good guitar solos here. The vocals is really cool too.

The songs on this forty odd minutes long album is short and to the point. They are a bit poppy and college rock orientated too. Not to mention; radio friendly.

The music is actually good throughout this album. OK, the band has not invented the wheel on this album. Nevertheless, fans of this genre will like what they hear on this album. Check it out.
