Sezione Frenante - Nuove Dimensioni (2019)

The second album from this Italian band.

The band is a quintet with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, percussion, mellotron, organ, piano, synth and Italian vocals.
Three guest musicians contributed with flute, cello and backing vocals.

This band is another band who operated in the 1970s but called it a day and then were resurrected years later.
I do not have their 2014 debut album Metafora Di Un Viaggio... but I will get it if I can find it.

Their name between 1974 and 1978 was Nuove Dimensioni and the band has not unwisely used their previous band name on this album. It is a good tribute to their earlier life.

The music is lush RPI.... Rock Progressive Italiano. The songs are all looking backwards to the 1970s. I would not be surprised if some songs if not all of them were written when the band called themselves Nuove Dimensioni.

The vocals is almost like opera vocals. The vocals lies on the top of some really lively and lush RPI. It is at time pastoral and a bit harsh. But it is never really heavy.

There is a lot of organs and mellotrons here with some guitars inbetween. The sound is unmistaken RPI.

The songs on this fifty minutes long album is all very good. Songs that will make any RPI fan feel very joyful indeed.

This is a very good album and one album all RPI fans should check out.
