Traffic - When The Eagle Flies (1974)

The eight album from this British band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, saxophone, flute, keyboards, guitars and vocals.

This is their next to last album. The band members split up the band and went on their ways to have successful careers somewhere else.

Steve Winwood, the vocalist and main man in Traffic, had indeed a very successful career. This is an artist me and many others respect very highly. He is a national treasure, no less.

When The Eagle Flies is forty minutes long.

The music is a mix of folk rock, symphonic prog, rock and art-rock.

There is also a hint of soul in the music on this album. Steve Winwoods vocals is indeed very soulful and can be used as an instrument in it's own right.

That is something he has done here.

The songs are not particular good. But there is a vibe on this album which makes it sound a lot better than it is.

This is therefore an album somewhere between decent and good.

This is my final review of Traffic albums and I both like and respect this band. It is one of the more interesting crossover folk rock bands from UK.

Check out this band.
