Humus - Malleus Crease (1996)

The third album from this Mexican band.

Humus was a duo with Jorge Beltran on guitars and Victor Basurto on bass.
They had help from some organs and drums too.

I was not a fan of their self-titled second album released in 1994. You can read my review here.

The band surfaced again with this album, Malleus Crease. Humus was reduced to a duo here. Which is not a good thing, considering the music they are playing.

The music is psych rock.

Their take on psych rock is plenty of guitars and bass with some drums and organs helping them out.
This is very raw music. The sound is good but the music is raw.

There is some decent stuff on this album. But most of this fifty minutes long album is throw-away melodies who does not have any meaning.

I am in short not impressed. Some good details is saving this album from the turkey yard. But it is a close call. Avoid.
