Iluvatar - A Story Two Days Wide (1999)
The third album from this US band.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, keyboards, guitars and vocals.
Iluvator started out as a neo-prog band and stayed true to this genre throughout their four albums.
A Story Two Days Wide has a horrible cover art-work. It really shames and betrays the inside, the music on the album.
Music solidly in the neo-prog genre.
Take a big part of Genesis with Phil Collins at the microphone. Add a lot of Marillion too and you get this album.
There is no if's and no but's here.
The keyboards are really good. The guitars could had been a lot better and the vocals are really very good.
The songs on this one hour long album is good throughout and makes this a very nice hour for those into neo-prog.... Many good hours in fact as this album deserve many repeat hearings.
There is no great tracks here and that is a shame. Nevertheless, this is a good album.
