Caldera - Stabat Mater: A Moog Mass (1970)

The one and only album from this US band.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of cello, mellotron, syntsh, moog, harpsichord, vocals and spoken words.

Not much is known about this band and album. It was a one off album.

The album is a re-writing of a prayer about Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. It is barely half an hour long.

It opens up with some spoken text and intro to this, what must be called a concept album... a twenty-five minutes long concept album.

These twenty-five minutes consist of some spoken narration, some terrible vocals and some baroque synths which sounds as false as a seven dollars banknote.

And that is this album.

It is a turkey of the best quality and pedigree. It is an appalling bad piece of music.... if we can use the word "music" on this album. I have my doubts.
