Passport - Back To Brazil (2003)

The 23rd album from this German band.

The band was Klaus Doldinger on saxophones and six other musicians helping out on percussion, drums, bass, guitars and keyboards.

Passport has altogether released 25 albums and this is the final one I am reviewing.

It has been a pleasure to listen to this band and review the 10+ albums I got of them. I rate this band quite highly. In particular their first albums where they sounded like Weather Report.

The band has embraced the music of Brazil on this album. That means the more jazzy and world music from Brazil. Not it's death and thrash metal music....

This means an hour of jazz with a lot of bossa nova influences. Klaus saxophones is in the forefront on some music which mostly is ballads or mid-tempo stuff.

The music is a bit on the bland side and not particular interesting for a proghead like myself.

The music is still pretty decent though and well worth a listen or two.

When it comes to Passport, their first five albums is very good and should be investigated. The rest is OK to good.
