All Traps On Earth - A Drop Of Light (2018)

The debut album from this Swedish band.

The band is a quartet with a lineup of bass, drums, mellotron, moog, keyboards, synths, fender rhodes, organ, clavinet, grand piano, tubular bells and female vocals.
The band had help from guest musicians who provided guitars, woodwinds and bass.

This album was THE sensation of last year. An album voted the best album of the year if I am not totally wrong.

No wonder when you know that the band is three member of Anglagard and the daughter of one of them. That is this band.

The music on this album is not Anglagard copycat. It is Anglagard taken some steps towards the left and genres like zeuhl and avant-garde.

The music is instrumental with the female vocals used as an instrument. The voices are in the zeuhl genre, indeed.

The mix of Swedish symphonic prog, zeuhl and avant-garde makes this a massive gigantic album. It also adds a lot of dark, bleak soundscapes to this album.

The music is still pretty melodic though.... but not for the faint-hearted.

Every piece of music here is pieces of art. And this album of art-pieces are a great album. It is an album which may set a trend this year and in the future.

It is indeed a great album.
