Maqama - Maqama (2008)
The one and only album from this Israeli band.
The band is a quartet with a lineup of bass, drums, guitars, keyboards, ringtones and vocals.
This is another one-off album from an Israeli band.
It is also a strange one. A very eclectic one.
I believe the vocals are in Hebrew. Indeed it is. So no English vocals and that is a relief as Hebrew is a very melodic language.
The female Hebrew vocals adds a lot to the eclectic music. Music which comes across as some strange and twisted rock meets eclectic prog.
There is even some folk rock here and a lot of French cabaret music.
French cabaret music is a good label on this album.
The music is not particular complicated and technical. It is just weird.
The quality is decent enough but there is no good songs here.
This album is an oddity and one to perhaps check out if oddities is your thing.
