If - Tea Break Over Back On Your 'Eads ! (1974)

The eight album from this British band.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, saxophones, hammond organ, electric piano, guitars, flute, synths and vocals.

This is the eight album from If and the final one before they took a long break. The band resurfaced again in 2016 with the If 5 album.

The band is ticking over on this album with their brass rock.

Their take on brass rock has a lot of blues, soul, pop and some jazz. There is even some Latin jazz on this album.

The music sounds pretty commercial and is clearly trying to bridge the gap from brass rock to commercial rock and pop.

The songs are a bit lacking in quality though and their quest for commercial acceptance falls a bit flat on it's face.

The music is decent enough and the vocals are OK.

This is a decent enough album from a band who quickly disbanded after the release of this album.
