Sahara - Sunrise (1974)

The second album from this German band.

The band was a sextet with a lineup of guitars, keyboards, moog, mellotron, flute, bass, woodwind, saxophone, mouth harp, drums, percussion and vocals.

The band returned again, two years after the release of their debut album. A fairly good debut album.

This time with a bit of a new sound.

The band has gone for a more clean symphonic prog sound and music this time. There is a strange pop and beat like song on this album too. Even that song has some symphonic prog. It also has some country music.

The rest of the three quarters of an hour long album is symphonic prog.

The longest track, out of four tracks, is the almost half an hour long title track. That track is a suite in two parts.

This suite has a lot of classical music bits and some ELP like bits too. It is a very complex suite indeed.

The result is another decent to good album from this band. A band and album well worth checking out as this album is a bit of a hidden gem.
