Patch - The Star Suite (1973)
The one and only album from this Australian project/band.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and keyboards.
They had help from some guest musicians who provided organ, electric cello, bass, cello, saxophone, flute, synth, guitars and percussion.
This project is a studio project put together by the composer and producer Peter Dawkins. It is about the four elements of the Zodiac.
Four long compositions equals forty-two minutes.
The music is a mix of symphonic prog, jazz, psych rock, hard rock and fusion.
Some of the music most of all sounds like jam pieces. But these parts are still properly structured.
Only for the grace of Progarchives has this album still got a life instead of being forgotten. And it should not be forgotten. There are some decent to good stuff here.
Nevertheless, some of the stuff here is unremarkable and keeps it difficult to concentrate on listening to this album. It is a bit third rate, the music here.
It is still an album well worth checking out for those who can find an hour and the album on Youtube. It is a decent enough album.
