Also Eden - REDACTED (2013)

The fourth and final album from this British band.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, lap steel guitar, percussion and vocals.

Also Eden was around a lot when I got bitten by the prog rock bug. I reviewed their debut album and their vocalist is on my Facebook friends list. But that is all.... So it is about time to dig out this album to give it a review. The two others are scheduled in for review next year.

The band is very influenced by Marillion. Both the Fish era and the non-Fish era of Marillion, in fact. Other references are Galahad and IQ.

The music is also very heavy at times. The opening song Red River is very heavy. There is even some djent influences here on this album.

The rest of the album is not that hard. But it is still not an album for the faint hearted and those who are looking for more pastoral progressive rock.

The sound is very modern and the vocalist does a good job.

This is not the most interesting neo-prog album I have ever heard. But there are some really good details and melody lines. Under doubt, I awards it a good rating.
