Matterhorn - Outside (2020)

The debut album from this Norwegian project.

Matterhorn is Tommy Halseth on most instruments. That means keyboards, bass, guitars and vocals.

He got help from guest musicians who provided drums, violins and extra vocals.

This is an album released on Appolon Records prog rock sub-label. 

There is some doubts about this being a progressive record or not. Let me explain...

The music takes us back to some of the art-pop from the 1970s and 1980s. The organ sound is old style. 

The vocals too is pretty old style. 

Nevertheless, the music is somewhere between pop and rock. There are some progressive rock here but not much.

The songs are all decent to good. I am not entirely won over but wish Tommy all the best with this project.
