Ash Ra Tempel - Le Berceau De Cristal (1993)

The sixth album from this German band.

Ash Ra Tempel was reduced to a duo on this album with Manuel Gottsching (guitars, Farfisa organ and computers) and Lutz Ulbrigh (guitars and synth guitars).

This album is the soundtrack for the French movie with the same name. So it is not really a fully blooded Ash Ra Tempel album.

It still retains some of the more spacy elements of Ash Ra Tempel with some dynamic space rock melodies and details.

There is no denying that this is indeed a different album from their previous five albums. It spaced out and pretty much ambient.

The music itself is pretty decent and interesting. This sixty minutes long album is not very interesting and neither does it contain some good ambient space rock. It falls a bit flat in the quality department.

This is a decent album and that is it. Those really into ambient space rock may like this album.

  1. Along with the first two Ash Ra Tempel albums this is a gem, easily 4 or 4.5 stars. Gottsching's guitar is mesmerizing.
