Steamhammer - Mk II (1969)

The second album from this UK band.

The band was a quintet on this album with a lineup of harmonica, harp, harpsichord, bass, drums, saxophones, conga, guitars, percussion and vocals.

Their 1969 debut album Reflection was a fairly decent blues album. It was one of many decent blues albums from that year.

The same year saw the release of Mk II too. Two albums in one year was not uncommon back then.

Mk II sees the band make quite a big difference in sound and music, though.

Gone is most of the blues and it has been replaced by some flower power pop and psychedelia.

The album is a mix of blues and west-coast psychedelia.

The music is decent enough throughout with some very good vocals. If this is your thing, check out this album.
