Saga De Ragnar Lodbrock - Saga De Ragnar Lodbrock (1979)

The one and only album from this French band.

The band was a ten members plus big band with all the acoustic instruments you can think of. Guitars, woodwinds, piano and so forth. There are also some synths and keyboards here. And lots of French vocals.

The band is a theater ensemble who dipped into folk music on this album and the world of music. Hence the many members of  this band. The theater ensemble's knowledge of music was not particular impressive. The French magazines referring to them as amateurs and scoundrels. Their world was theater and not music, their fellow countrymen claims.

They are not that bad, though.

Take medieval folk music, add some theater and some acoustic Ange.... then you get this album.

The album is thirty-six minutes long and it has some stylish vocals, flutes and guitars. The other instruments is also adding a lot of value to this album.

The songs are cool, but not impressive cool. The ambience here is good and the music is not too bad. This is an album somewhere between decent and good. It is also an old charmer of an album.

2.5 points
