Bella Band - Bella Band (1978)
The one and only album from this Italian band.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of saxophone, electric clarinet, flute, clavinet, organ, bass, guitars and drums.
The band's only connection to the rest of the scene is that it was formed by the bassist of Campo Di Marte. The rest of the musicians does not have any history in the music scene.
The band plays fusion. Fusion which is highly dominated by jazz.
Nevertheless, this is fusion and the music is pretty melodic at times.
There are some very good saxophone and guitar solos. These two instruments lives well together in this band and creates a lot of good things.
The clavinet and the organs too really does a good job and they are all underpinned by the rhythm section.
It is a great shame that we only got one album from the band as this album showcases a really good band.
The result is this good album and fusion fans.. and progressive rock fans... will find a real gem in this album.
