SubLunar - A Welcome Memory Loss (2019)

The debut album from this band from Poland.

The band is a quintet with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums and vocals.

This is another new band from Poland. Another neo-prog'ish band.
That is a positive thing. Prog rock is still well and alive in Poland, one of the biggest countries in Europe. A country who has suffered unspeakable atrocities in the last 100 years. I have a soft spot for this country.

The neo-prog scene in this country more than justify my goodwill, too. Some of the best neo-prog the world has ever seen comes from Poland.

SubLunar fits.... well.... some sort of fits into this scene. What is notable and immediate notable is the lack of keyboards. This is indeed a two guitarists full assault and a guitar band.

The music is pretty heavy and fresh. Rush springs to mind as a good reference. Rush without the keyboards.

There is a lot of guitars harmonies and a few guitar solos here. The music is a mix of heavy and more soft music. It sounds very youthful and fresh, though. It feels very much like this day and age.... fresh and young.

The quality of the songs on this one hour long album is not particular good. The sound is good though and the band is talented.

This is an acceptable debut album and well worth checking out.
