Guranfoe - Sum Of Erda (2019)

The debut album from this English band.

The band is a quartet with a lineup of organ, drums, synths, bass, guitars, piano and percussion.
They got help from four guest musicians who provided flute, vibraphone, violin and clarinet.

The band has released numerous singles and EPs before they went for this full length album. An almost forty minutes long album....

The album has been released on a Norwegian record label and quite heavy promoted by that label. Which is a bit untraditional.

The music is entirely instrumental and in the Canterbury vein.

The music is very eclectic throughout and most certainly at the far eclectic end of the Canterbury scene.

The music is indeed a mix of fusion and eclectic prog. There are some King Crimson over the album too and some Soft Machine.

There is lots of quirky details in the music which keeps the listener entertained. It is indeed nerdy music.

The quality is good throughout and England has again got a new good band.

Check out this album.
