Gamma - Darts (1974)

The second album from this Dutch band.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of guitars, organ, bass, woodwinds, drums and percussion.

The band has got rid of the vocals and most of the Canterbury prog influences this time around.

These has been replaced by pure fusion and some ELP like symphonic prog. The band has stolen some melody lines from the first two ELP albums.

Some Canterbury prog elements is still hanging around on this album.

There is also some really melodic Camel elements here which takes us into symphonic prog territory.

This album too was self-released as the band and their music was incapable of securing a record deal. I can understand that based on their two albums. They are not good and not exciting.

Nevertheless, they are now on Youtube and well worth a listen or two. Just for a change of scenery for the avid music lover.

This is a decent album, indeed.
