Gam - 1976 (1986)

The debut album from this German band.

The band was a trio with a lineup of trumpet, guitars, bass, drums, percussion and vocals.

Gam only released two albums during their short career. This one and one in 2005. Both of them were recorded back in the 1970s.

1976 was recorded in one of the musician's cellar and the sound is..... well, very underground and dungeon like.

The sound fits the music though.

The music is dirty krautrock. That means spacy and dirty improvised krautrock.

This forty-six minutes long album is divided into three similar length pieces of music. One of them, the last one, includes the main Fur Elise theme of Ludwig Van Beethoven's fame.

The rest of the music is a bit repeating itself with some screamo and growling vocals on the top.

The music is decent enough and the band is not shaming their genre. It is nice to hear some dirty krautrock now and then.

This is indeed a decent album. It is for krautrock fans only, I am afraid.
