Alluminogeni. Gli - Metafisico (2019)

The fourth album from this Italian band.

The band is a trio on this album with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals.
Two guest musicians helped out the band on guitar and bass.

The band debuted in 1972, reappeared again the early 1990s and then took a break until 2019.

They are not the most productive band in other words.

Metafisico has a set of new songs on this album. Songs in the RPI tradition. And it is indeed an RPI band Gli Alluminogeni is.

Their take on RPI - Rock Progressive Italiano - is pretty dark. The sound is muddy indeed. Is that by intent or due to a bad studio ? I do not know.

The vocals and the keyboards are good and suitably dark. The guitars are at times distorted.

This is indeed an album from the dark moors of the RPI scene. The songs are pretty epic too.

The album is an enjoyable listen though. It is not one of the best RPI albums from 2019 and the band has never really been highly rated. But it is still a good album.
