Lucifer's Friend - Sumogrip (1994)

The ninth album from this German band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of bass, drums, guitars and vocals.
Two guest musicians provided drums too.

John Lawton was back in the band and was the main vocalist here.

For some reason I do not know, the band called themselves Lucifer's Friend II on this album. That reminds me about the current Nektar situation where two bands are laying claim to this name.

John Lawton is the original member of Lucifer's Friend and this album is a genuine album from this band.

Music wise, this album is a heavy metal album of the old 1980s style. I cannot understand why the band did not stick to the 1970s sound and kept the fans from that time instead of seeking a new market which in 1994 was not there.

This album is out of touch with 1994 too.

The heavy metal sounds American and is melodic. It is also pretty dire.

The art work is dire and so is  the music. This is a bona fida turkey and a disgrace when it comes to this band's good name and reputation.
