Syd Arthur - On An On (2012)

The second album from this British band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, violin, mandolin, piano and vocals.

I reviewed their fourth and so far last album some time ago in this blog and liked that album. So I got one more of their albums..... this one.

I am not alone in liking this band. They are quite popular.

The band is a progressive and psychedelia version of Coldplay and Radiohead.

Add some The Beatles and Barclay Harvest Band too and you get this album.

The songs is medium long and pretty effective. The band gets what they want from these minutes.

The violin and mandolin adds a lot of hippie flower power and apple orchards feeling to this album. This is a sunny album, indeed. There is still enough bite in this album to give it a lot of interesting details.

On the top of this, we get some very good vocals indeed.

The end result is a good album from a band well worth following a bit more closely.
