Saluki - Amazing Games (2018)

The second album from this Norwegian band.

The band was a sextet with a lineup of guitars, wind synths, keyboards, bass, drums, percussion and vocals.

I thought this was a brand new album and the follow up to their 1977 self-titled debut album. That was the impression I got before this album was released. The band is still gigging and has got second wind in their sails.

Well, this album is their lost 1978 album. It was released in 2018 and has got that as the official release year. Please be aware of this.

I have reviewed their debut album somewhere else in this blog. You can read my review here.

The band was a mix of fusion and progressive rock back then and did not change much during that year. We are still talking a mix of fusion and progressive rock.

There is a lot of vocal laidback jazz here though. Almost lounge at times. Add a lot of funk... and may I dare to utter this word in public....... disco.

The vocals are good and the band does a good job too. There are a lot of very good guitars throughout this album. The songs are barely good and just that. This is not as good as the debut album. But the guitar solos wins the day and elevate this album up to a good status.
