Molly Hatchet - Beatin' the Odds (1980)

The third album from this US band.

The band was a sextet on this album with a lineup of slide guitar, guitars, bass, drums and vocals.
A keyboardist and female vocalist is helping the band out on this album.

This album was their final of three platinum selling albums. In short, it sold more than a million records.

It is not difficult to understand why this album has sold more than a million records. The audience for this kind of music was still there in the rural parts of USA. It still is as the band is still a big band in some parts of USA...... and Europe.

The band gives us a mix of country'n'western, southern rock, blues and hard rock on this album. The sound of the good old United States of America, in other words.

The triple guitars are giving their best and the vocals are really cool.

The music is anything but progressive, though.

Nevertheless, the music is somewhere between decent and good. It is good ole rock'n'roll and it is the good ole USA. Some listening sessions with this album is not a wasted time.
