Different Light - Binary Suns Part 1 (2020)
The fourth album from this band from the Czech Republic.
The band is a quartet with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals.
Different Light has been around since the early 1990s and CD debuted in 1996.
I reviewed their third album The Burden Of Paradise back in March 2016 and liked that album.
Much of what I wrote back then also goes for their new album.
The band still gives us a pop rock version of neo-prog.
The music is elegant but also very light and rounded. The music is not particular edgy or symphonic. It is not symphonic at all.
There are some guitar solos with vocal harmonies inbetween on some very lightly sprinkled melodies. It sometimes feels like a teenybopper album.
There are some good details scattered around and the music is not too bad. The vocals are really good and ditto for the rest of the musicians.
Nevertheless, this is an album somewhere between decent and good.
