Passport - Oceanliner (1980)

The tenth album from this German band.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of percussion, drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, lyricon, saxophone, vocoder and vocals.

Their previous albums was pretty bad and I did not have any expectations to this album.

The band tried to recapture some of the sound which had made their first albums so good on Oceanliner.

The first impressions was pretty good, at least.

The music is a mix of fusion and jazz. There are some vocals here, but not much.

The music is very cinematic and not so intense. We are not talking Goblin copycats here. But the music is still laidback and cinematic.

The thunder and lightening has gone away from their music and that is a shame.

The music is pretty OK, though. It is not good, but these forty minutes is an improvement on previous two albums.

2.5 points
