Saiga Antelope - The Grand Endeavor (2019)

The debut album from this Norwegian band.

The band is a duo with a lineup of bass, drums programming, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
A female vocalist also adds her voice.

I have never heard about this band before. It is from Oslo and I guess the local university or college is the place where they met.

The music here is pretty intriguing.

Take some of Gazpacho, some symphonic prog and some indie, alternative rock, pop and folk rock. Marillion also springs to mind.

The genre is most certain art-rock.

The music is peaceful and pretty moody with some great Genesis like melodies now and then. There is a lot of harmonies and piano on this album. The guitars are mostly tasteful in the background with a few solos inbetween.

There is a lot of vocals on this album and they works very well.

There is a lot of ambience and moods on this album. And some of the material is laid back epic and monumental. The duo knows how to paint sound. And they do it well.

This is another impressive debut album from Norway. An album which really grips the listener and does not let loose of the listener/victim.

Check out this very good album.
