Etron Fou Leloublan - Les Poumons Gonflés (1982)

The third album from this French band.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of woodwinds, Farfisa organ, guitar, bass, drums, piano, violin and vocals.

This avant-garde band continues on again with a their third album.

In the original group of RIO bands, this band is the most difficult to grasp unless you speak French. Some of the listening experience is a bit flat without these language skills.

There is a lot of spoken words on the top of the music and I feel a bit left out here. Should have chosen French instead of German at school.....

The music is a mix of theatrical French vaudeville folk rock and some rock.

The music is indeed totally avant-garde...... But still some melodic. It is avant-garde folk rock for a large part of this album.

Then the woodwinds adds a lot of acid to the music.

The end result is strangely enough good. Not really great, but good.

Those who are looking for some real avant-garde prog should get this album.
