Máquina Vapor - Máquina Vapor (2010)

The debut album from this band from Brazil.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, accordion, keyboards and vocals.
Guest musicians provided electric guitars, double bass, violin and flute.

This band is totally obscure although they have released two albums and they should have been included in the likes of ProgArchives.

This is indeed a progressive rock album and band.

The music is very much Latin-American progressive rock with a lot of tropicana influences.

Take a mix of King Crimson, tropicano, Yes, folk rock, rock and indie rock.

The music is at times very lush.... most of the times, in fact. The indie rock with faint smell of punk is always there.

That it smoothed over by some organs and some good vocals.

The accordion is also adding some tropicana and folk rock to this album.

Unfortunate for us all, there is not much quality and not much to remember this album for. This is a decent album and just that. They must improve....
