Tr3nity - The Cold Light of Darkness (2002)

The debut album from this British band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, keyboards, guitars and vocals.

The band released two albums before they split up. Nothing has been heard of them since 2004.

The band was and is one of the many neo-prog bands who wandered into symphonic prog too. Genesis and Pendragon is two huge influences. They also sometimes sounds like Saga.

This album is a concept album about a young female drug user. The album has a great deal of a rock opera sound and structure. That with lots of piano and changing sounds.

There is indeed some musical sounding songs here.

And that is not exactly what I want to get from a progressive rock album.

The prog stuff here is decent to good.

The vocals are good and the instruments are decent enough.

The end result is one hour of not exactly sparkling music. I have my reservations.
