The debut album from this British project.
Mark Kelly is the keyboard player in Marillion and his band consists of two other members with a lineup of drums, bass, keyboards, guitars and vocals.
Some guest musicians is also adding their talents to this album. That include most of Marillion.
This album and band has been described as a Covid pandemic project. It is done by bored musicians who has nothing to do while self-isolating and trying to stay alive.
The music is a mix of AOR, art-rock and neo-prog. It is not a million miles away from Marillion. There is more AOR in Marathon than in the far more arty and progressive Marillion.
The musicianship is top notch and the vocals are good.
The music too is good and Mark Kelly has spent his time in isolation very good.
This is not an album full of exciting music. Nevertheless, the music is good and this album is well worth checking out.
