The second album from this one-man project from Germany.
Arne Schafer is the man using the Apogee name as his artist name. He also played in Versus X on their albums. On this album, he plays all instruments equals bass, guitars, drums, programming, keyboards and vocals.
I have got a handful of Apogee albums and is planning to review them this winter.
This album is over one hour long and the songs was recorded between 1991 and 1998. The material is coherent throughout and there is no collection of songs feeling here. Hence, I regard this as a normal studio album.
The music is neo-prog and neo-prog of the most basic kind of neo-prog.
The vocals is a mix of Andy Tillisson and Peter Hammill.
The music is pretty symphonic and pretty complex throughout. It is also both organic and melodic. It also has some flowery, pastoral bits.
The songs and the music is good throughout and I my first meeting with an album from Apogee has left a good taste. Check out this album.
