Blå Lotus - Högtid (2019)

The second album from this Swedish band.

The band was trio on this album with a lineup of drums, bass, percussion, theremin, fx, hammond, farfisa, synths, electric piano, flute and vocals.

I really liked their 2018 debut album Tube Alloys a lot and were looking forward to this album. See my review here.

The band is again giving us fifty minutes of music.

That is a mix of folk rock, funk, acid rock and heavy progressive rock.

References are both Jethro Tull and Deep Purple. But there is also some references to the Swedish symphonic prog scene here. Not to mention: Swedish folk rock.

This album has indeed a great Swedish feel and ambience.

The music is at time pretty heavy and it makes a lot of noise. Enough to make sensitive souls flee the room. This band really rocks off at times.

There is also some more pastoral pieces here on this album.

The end result is a good album which really heats up a cold room. I really like this band and their music. They are some great talents.
