Generous Men - More Than Meets The Eye (2013)

The debut album from this Swedish band.

The band is a quintet with a lineup of bass, flute, drums, keyboards, guitars and vocals.

The band has so far released two albums and I got both of them up for reviews. Which off course is a pleasure.

More Than Meets The Eye is what we call a heavy prog album.

In this case, there is a 1970s organ sound here combined with a more modern guitars and vocals sound.

It is not progressive metal and it is not neo-prog or old symphonic prog. It is somewhere between early 1970s progressive rock and progressive metal.

The opening half of this album is strong with some really very good songs. The quality falls of at the end. Not as in a cliff edge. But the fall in quality is noted.

The sound is very good and the vocals too is very good.

This is a good album indeed and I am looking forward to sink my ears into their second album. I hope this band is generous enough to continue as they sounds like another very valuable band from Sweden.
