Arcadelt - Arc8 (2019)

The second album from this Italian band.

The band is a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, piano, programming, percussion and vocals.

The band released their debut album in 1994, an EP in 2010 and this album in 2019.

This is a band who does not hurry their creative outputs, in other words.

The band is giving us forty minutes plus of melodic neo-prog.

The neo-prog is lush with a lot of harmonies and melodies. References are both early Marillion and Genesis.

The music is not as muscular as expected. It is rather soft and is leaning towards Italian pop.

There are some music here which fails pretty badly. The ballad here is soppy and out of tune with the rest of the album.

Most of the album is good to very good. But the two bad songs here does not do this album any favours whatsoever.
