SBB - Amiga (1978)
The sixth album from this Polish band.
The band was a trio with a lineup of guitars, bass, percussion, drums, minimoog, mellotron, electric piano, clavinet and vocals.
The band lived their lives behind the Iron Curtain and were perhaps a bit isolated.
In any case, the band has this time around come up with a funk album. Yes, the cover art work is a warning and I should have heeded it. But I am doing reviews so it does not matter. To say that the art work lowered my expectations is still true.
The funk is mixed with some fusion during these forty minutes (eighty minutes if you get the Metal Mind version).
There are some vocals at the end of the album too.
The result is not horrible bad. The band knows how to make the funk and the fusion work. The music still sound second rate and not particular original and full of identity.
It is a run of the mill album and a decent one too.
I am not won over by this album.
