Telergy - Black Swallow (2020)

The fourth album from this US based project.

Telergy is the young composer and musician Robert McClung who does some vocals, strings, guitars, percussion and keyboards on this album.

He is helped out by numerous, close to forty other musicians who provides strings, woodwinds, choirs, drums, keyboards, organ, piano and vocals on this very complex album.

It is indeed a complex album and a concept album.

It is about a young colored man from the South states who escapes the violent racism down there, a despicable deplorable evil form of hatred, and moves to France where he flies planes during the great war.

The story is great. Full marks to that story.

The music........ It is a concept album who also includes lots of narration, some of it quite disturbing, and non-progressive music.

We get some gospel, pomp pop and some symphonic prog here.

All of the music is good. The narration is a good thing but it also disturbs the flow a great deal.

This is a good story and a good album. I am not entirely won over. Nevertheless, check out this album.
