The debut album from this Norwegian band.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, flute, bass, guitars and vocals.
This band has been around since the 1970s in the Telomark region before they released this and six more albums. I will review them this winter.
The band is one of the first Norwegian bands in the progressive rock genre. The music here is not purely progressive rock.....
Take a marriage between Black Sabbath and Jethro Tull and add some Norwegian folk music and some symphonic prog as bride-maids in the wedding photo.
There are also some Edvard Grieg here too.
The music is muscular and pretty heavy throughout. It is also pretty melodic and the folk rock is pretty refreshing and very much working.
The flutes are cool too and the vocals pretty good.
This forty minutes gives us a mix of decent and good music. It is a surprisingly good album though. Check it out.
