Quel Che Disse Il Tuono - Il Velo Dei Riflessi (2020)

The debut album from this Italian band.

The band is a quartet with a lineup of flute, keyboards, bass, guitars, drums, percussion and vocals.

This band is one of quite considerable amount of new RPI bands..... Rock Progressive Italiano.

Where some bands are more in the jazz, hard prog or even in the neo-prog vein, this band sticks to the melodic, lush original form of RPI.

The sound is off course very much updated to 2020 or hereabouts.... make that 2019 at 2020 means covid 19 and self-isolation. But yes, the sound is very much modern and 2019.

References are PFM, Banco, Le Orme, Maxophone, Genesis and Camel. Symphonic prog in other words.

The music on this album is dynamic and melodic. The songs are all long and epic.

The Italian vocals are very good and it brings us back some decades..... although it is my opinion that the golden ages of RPI is here and now. Something this band and this album proves.

This is indeed a very promising debut album from a band which is not up there yet. I trust the band to come up with something better on their second album. This is still an album all RPI fans should get.
