Passport - Cross Collateral (1975)

The fifth album from this German band.

Passport was a quartet with a lineup of guitars, bass, piano, electric piano, moog, mellotron, saxophones, drums and electronic percussion.

Klaus Doldinger and his band has so far given us four really tasty, good fusion album.

Although Klaus is a superb saxophonist, he has never been afraid of giving guitars and other instruments as much room as his own saxophones. That gives the Passport albums a lot of value.

We are again getting fusion here with a lot of jazz too. As per usual, all instruments get plenty of space to do harmonies and solos.

There is in fact not much saxophones here. Not that I believe Klaus was lazy. The slightly Weather Report like material did not invite to a saxophone overkill. And there is none.

We get a lot of electric piano here though on this forty minutes long album.

The music is really good and there is a shame that the music is not on a higher level than that.

Nevertheless, this is another good album from Passport. I really like their music.
