Flower Kings. The - Waiting For Miracles (2019)
The 13th album from this Swedish band.
The band was a quintet on this album with a lineup of drums, guitars, timpani, synths, keyboards, bass, organ, moog, mellotron, ukulele, marimba, glockenspiel, vibes and vocals.
Three other musicians provides viola, violin and extra vocals.
The Flower Kings is as close as you can get to a royal family in the prog rock world. The members is involved in all other types of projects and is everywhere.
It is though six years since the last The Flower Kings album. That is a long time to wait for another album. An album which was a bit on and off at times. I thought they had called it a day two years ago.
Their sound and style has not changed much during their years. The band has more or less, together with Kaipa, invented the Scandinavian Symphonic Prog sound and genre.
This album gives us eighty-five minutes of this genre and sound. Lots of harmonies throughout. Lots of symphonic prog workouts.
And that is what this album gives us.
What it does not give us is many good songs. This is by far their most uninspired album. There is not much to remember this album for.
This is a decent to good album and a disappointment.
