Svanfridur - What's Hidden There ? (1972)

The one and only album from this band from Iceland.

The band was a trio with a lineup of guitars, piano, bass, drums and vocals.
There are also some violins here.

This album has got a small cult status as it is from a country who is not associated with rock and pop. Well, Bjork, Solstafir and Sigur Ros has changed that. In the 1970s, only a handful of albums saw the light of day in Iceland.

Iceland is a beautiful island, though.

Svanfridur gives us forty minutes with a mix of rock, psych and blues rock. There are even some pretty avant-garde progressive rock here.

The sound is good. The music is pretty varied between some avant-garde progressive rock and some blues.

Unfortunate, there is not much to enjoy here. I am disappointed as I was looking forward to review this album.

Nevertheless......

1.5 points
