Life Line Project - The King (2009)

The fifth album from this Dutch band.

Life Line Project was a ten + big members band on this album with a lineup of harpsischord, saxophones, woodwinds, guitars, bass, drums, chittarone, lute, mandolins, moog, synths, keyboards, percussion, bells and vocals. Both male and female vocals.

I have not been that impressed by Life Line Project. Their instrumental symphonic prog has not really been playing on my heartstrings. Neither on my brain.

The King is a totally break with the usual Life Line Project. The band has gone rock opera, this time.

This album opens with an instrumental before a female opera vocals song chimes in. Then we get some instrumental baroque neo-classical music before the thirty-seven minutes long title tracks kicks in with a mix of symphonic prog and neo-classical music. Rock opera in other words.

And that is the music here. Rock opera based on symphonic prog and neo-classical music.

The music is good throughout as it twists and turns on some good melody lines, details ad ideas. Finally, I can recommend an album from this band. This album, it is.
Check it out !
