Trace - The White Ladies (1976)
The third and final album from this Dutch band.
The band was a seven piece big band on this album with a lineup of narration, saxes, flutes, keyboards, drums, bass and vocals.
The band had gone through some lineup changes and ended up with three ex Ekseption members on this album, their final album.
That is something that has not gone unnoticed in their music. Music which has taken a step closer towards Ekseption than on their two previous albums.
This is a kind of a concept album about an old story called The White Ladies. I am not sure about the story here.
The music is a mix of baroque classical music and symphonic prog. There is a lot of baroque music here and Johan Sebastian Bach springs to mind throughout this album.
The vocals is really cool on this album. Ditto for the baroque keyboards sound.
The music is indeed very good throughout this album and this album is one of the better symphonic prog albums from Holland. These forty minutes is highly enjoyable and speaks about a time long forgotten. Check out this album.
