Mesmerico - Magnete (2009)

The one and only album from this Italian band.

The band was a trio with a lineup of bass, drums, keyboards, guitars and vocals.

I got this album many years ago but did not really feel tempted to write a review there and then. The reason is the music genre. A music genre I am not a big fan of.

Mesmerico does a hardcore post-punk version of avant-garde/RIO.

This means off the wall riffs and melodies which sounds dissonant and is dissonant.

All of this with a punk sound. A hard core sound too.

There is a lot of guitars and bass here. Mostly bass, it has to be said. And some vocals.

The music is by no means easy on the ear and these forty minutes only sporadic comes up with some decent material.

This is not a totally flop of an album. But it is only a half-decent album I will never ever play again.
