Zio - Flower Torania (2020)

The debut album from this British band.

The band is a quartet with a lineup of drums, keyboards, bass and guitars.
They have got help from extra musicians and vocalists who provide accordion, guitars, bass and vocals.

This band/project has got members from Karnataka, Mostly Autumn, Franck Carducci, Mantra Vega, Haken and The Enid. Among the vocalists, you will find Heather Findlay, Joe Payne and Franck Carducci.

In short, this is not a spring chicken project.

From what I understand, this is a kind of a rock opera. Each song has it's own vocalist. And it is indeed a rock opera/concept album. The story line can be found on their homepage listed above.

The music is pretty symphonic throughout. There are also some hints of musicals type of music too. Broadway or the West End type of music.

The music is pretty epic and dynamic. The bass and drums creates a wall of sound where the others can base their talents on.

Epic is the word here and that is what they tries to do. The music is sometimes borderline progressive metal. Still, it is not progressive metal.

I am no big fan of projects like this. Nevertheless, there is no denying that this is a good album. It will win it's fans and I can understand why. Check out this album.
