3RDegree - Ones & Zeros Volume 0 (2018)
The sixth album from this US band.
The band is a sextet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, violin, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
I reviewed their fourth album The Long Division (from 2012) back in January 2013. You can read this review here.
I missed out on their fifth album, the first album in this series of two albums called Ones & Zeros. That album was called Ones & Zeros Volume 1 and it was released back in 2015.
This band is highly rated and I always hear about them among my prog rock friends on Facebook and other places. So it is with trepidation I am reviewing this..... The risk of becoming unpopular is very present and clear.
The band is giving us one hour of US neo-prog with a lot of college rock and symphonic prog influences. The theme is technology as the 0s and 1s indicate. And networking, that is.
The music is both brash, fresh and melodic with lots of vocals and guitar harmonies. The music is also complex and full of interesting details.
This is a very good album and highlights how good US neo-prog can be. Check out this album and this band.

Thanks Torodd. Just seeing this now. Glad you liked it as much as you did and thanks for risking unpopularity! ;) If you would like to check out it's predecessor (in real time)/successor (in album concept time) let me know. -RJP
